WHAT WE're About

Crossbridge believes that we are a church, not the church. That distinction is critical. We believe that there is a specific mission, purpose, and calling that God has uniquely given us to be faithful to. While championing other communities of Christ trying to reach people and make disciples in our community, country, and world, we also want to lean into the unique DNA and calling that we believe God has given us in the city of Tallahassee.

We mark this unique calling with some DNA values that guide and drive us. These values give us clarity and vision while also informing what we do. When there's disagreement or we're unsure of what to do, we use our values to shape and guide our thinking. We believe that as we lean into these unique (yet Scriptural) values, we better position ourselves to be faithful to the work God has asked us to do.

discipleship path

We believe that connecting to God is more than just a relationship with Jesus that enters us into heaven when we die. It's an invitation to experience life in the here and now! It's a calling to become Jesus' disciples, seeing our hearts and lives shaped into his image. As we connect to God, we see our hearts grow in four primary ways:

  • Cultivate a personal relationship with Jesus: Love relationships thrive on time spent together. We see our connection to God deepen as we spend time with and encounter him.
  • Connect in relationships where truth meets life: God created us to express our love for him through our love for others. When we enter into relationships that provide mutual encouragement and accountability, we open up a pathway for God to work in us and through us.
  • Contribute by serving: Jesus announced that he came to serve, not to be served. Seeing our hearts shaped into Christ's image means we look for opportunities to serve others as he did.
  • Care about people far from God: Jesus came to seek and save lost people. As we follow Christ our hearts begin to care deeply for those who do not know him.
