Easter Sunday: Death Defeated

What's the big deal about Easter? We'll just let Paul, a first-century church leader who wrote several of the books of the Bible tell you how important Easter is: "if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith," (1 Corinthians 15:14 NIV). That's pretty important. It's the day that death, both physical and spiritual, were defeated. A brand new lease on life is offered to us at the empty tomb. As Paul wrote in another one of his letters, "If you declare with your mouth 'Jesus is Lord' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you shall be saved," (Romans 10:9 NIV). Sound too good to be true? That's why they call this message the gospel, which literally translated means "good news." It's real good news.

Don't know if you believe the Easter story actually happened? That's fine. You're invited anyway. Jesus' disciples were allowed to belong before they believed in him too. You're in good company. You're welcomed and wanted here, and the fantastic folks at Crossbridge would love to show you.
